Is a very thin-thin girdle a problem on a diamond that will be set in a halo like this one?

Only for resale and later resetting.

diamonds are forever but this one may not be

A few more prongs..., and the Diamond wont need a girdle...

lol, it definitely has a lot of prongs, i like the look, looks like a flower! so are you saying it would be ok to have a diamond with the very thin-thin girdle combo in this setting?

Common sense is key...

The more work on a Diamonds weak spot..., the greater the odds...

Good luck

I see, I''m not too diamond savvy so I thought it might somehow "protect" the girdle. Thanks for the info!

It sure will..., after it is set....

ah, ok , gotcha, so basically pray it doesn''t get chipped during setting and hope you never have to reset it again. Hmm, too risky! thanks

Ditto, I''d just make sure that your diamond is insured during the setting process because this is the time it is most susceptible to chipping. It will probably be fine afterwards in a setting like that.
