Just curious how scintillation is graded on the HCA. After running many diamonds through this tool I’ve seen several with the super ideal proportions come back with “Very good Scintillation” rather than excellent. Does anyone know how this is graded/calculated? Thanks!! @Garry H (Cut Nut)

You can read about it at www.diamond-cut.com.au Gemly.
But please do not use HCA as a super specific tool

Thanks Garry! It sounds like scintillation might be the least reliable of the HCA categories? Would you say a super ideal diamond rated “very good scintillation” can be disregarded? I read that a score of 0-2 was given for scintillation. Is a higher or lower score better, in this case regarding a better HCA rating? Thanks again for the reply! Trying to sharpen my understanding.
