Wow arjunajane, my jaw dropped when I saw that second ring. It is amazing. I love the contrast between the white and the brown diamond and the yellow gold just highlights that. I had to save that photo in the "Things Erica Wants" folder on my computer.

Skippitb, if you found a ring and a stone that you LOVE, that you can''t stop thinking about, that makes your heart sing than it doesn''t matter how good a deal it is. Sometimes certain diamonds just reach out and say "Hello! I am meant to be yours!" My diamond was like that. I ended up with a .587ct center stone, which was the smallest of the four or five I was looking at, because it was the stone that I kept coming back to. It became the standard by which I measured all other diamonds I looked at. It was then I realized that I was being dumb and that I really should buy the one that I kept coming back to.

Even though it is small by PS standards I couldn''t be happier with what I ended up with. I could have gotten a stone three times as large, but none spoke to me the way this one did. I could spend hours staring at my ring, lost in all of the layers of color, sparkle, and fire. There is one particular spot in my cubicle where I can hold my hand in just such a way to send huge rainbows of fire and sparkle through my cube, and every time I do that I sigh because I can''t believe I actually get to wear such a beautiful stone every day for the rest of my life. Some people purchase and ring and immediately start thinking about an upgrade. Not me! I really do think that this exact stone will keep me happy for life.

Arjunajane! STOP IT! You are killing me with these incredible rings! The fourth one took my breath away, too. I am usually not a huge fan of yellow gold, but the brown diamond just looks so perfect with it. *sigh*

I have to admit, although diamonds are very expensive here, we do get very nice cognac and pink stones as they are mined locally (Argyle). I agree with you that the yellow gold looks stunning with white and champagne stones- very classy and original I feel.

I also love your story about your ring - thats adorable! I can so relate!

I had my E-ring made a couple of yrs ago (Pre Pre Pre PS!!), but none the less I am still enamoured with it today- it is a simple 3 stone design, quite small by PS standards, but I still love it! I too would get lost staring at it at random times! I especially liked picking up my FI from work in the evenings, and the lights at the carpark would make it sparkle so much

I would always pass the time Very easily staring at my ring when waiting for Fi to finish work

Anyway, anytime you want more pics of Aussie designs, you know where to find me!
