Hi All,

I have narrowed my search for an engagement mounting down to two models: the verragio insignia 7050R and the verragio insignia 7008. My girlfriend absolutely *loves* ornate looking rings, and it seems verragio does this the best. I think the 7050R wins in this alley, but something about the design is irking me that I was hoping to get some opinions on. Right underneath the center stone, there is kind of a "crown" design in the 7050 vs an "orb" in the 7008. Doesn''t the crown seem a little less elegant?

Any votes as to which is the more timeless/elegant design?

The two models are here:

(Note: This picture isn''t the exact ring as I don''t have that picture but it has the "orb" design for comparison beneath the center stone. To see the actual ring click on the link above)

Would love some feedback here!

I like the first. It's just about as ornate as you can get before one starts wondering about gilding the lily.

First for me too! They are both desirable but I''m worry about the confort of those design. There are probably ladies here who can tell.

Yikes! I guess I figured these would all be durable enough just because its verragio??

I appreciate all this feedback! But no takers on the crown vs the orb? I could probably get the first one custom designed to switch out the crown underneath the diamond but...which one is better?

Setting 1 - I love this, it''s beautiful.
Setting 2 - This is a halo type design which is nice for a smaller stone (don''t know your stone)
Setting 3 - (the link) this one is nice - you can see more of the diamond... if you are getting a cushion I would choose this, a round the first one.

I like the little flower/crown better than the orb but there isn''t a better one - it''s strictly personal preference.

the simple answer is I''d pick #1 and not change a thing. If the diamond is under a carat I''d consider the halo. If the diamond is a cushion, radiant, or oval I''d consider the third but keep in mind it is a split shank and not all women like split shanks. The first one plays down the split shank thing by weaving them together. The second picture above is a very different ring but also beautiful.

I like the first setting but it really doesnt have anything to do with the crown or the orb. If the first setting had an orb in place of the crown
I would still like the first setting better.

I would pick #2. It just appeals to my eye more.

I prefer the first. I love the "woven" band and the profile. Although I typically like split shanks, the prongs seem heavy on this one (but some might like that look). Also the angle on the shoulders seems exaggerated. The orbs don't bother me either way but I like the smaller tulip-shaped one.

Both or lovely.

Amazing all!

I love the first one too - and I''m glad to hear the tulip shape is appealing! I think we have a winner.

I''m due to get a look at a sample in person within the next couple weeks. I''m getting a 1.4ct round brilliant diamond, no halo. It is definitely on the ornate side, but I think the weaving still gives it elegance.

Thanks everyone!

first one for me too. I like my center stone to stand out.

I choose #1. Verragio makes beautiful rings. I don''t think you need to worry about losing the center diamond during normal wear, but be sure to get regular prong checks
