Vendors who carry Gelin & Abaci

Howdy....

I realize this strays dangerously close to encouragement of self-
promotion (which after reading Honde''s posts, I want to flee from)...

However, do any vendors here carry or special order Gelin & Abaci
tension settings? Thanks very much in advance.


For those of you who have tagged along, can anyone give me evidence
or a better idea as to whether it might even be advantageous for a
stone that was to be tension set to have moderate leakage the
pavilion?

just to ward off the topic, I am aware of the issues that surround
Gelin & Abaci in relation to Steven Kretchmer (and to those who haven't
read the subject, here's the link to Diamond Talk)....

Actually, according to the jeweler that I bought my Gelin & Abaci setting from, the claims that Mr. Kretchmer made were not upheld in court -- he said that there were some consessions made regarding the style of a couple of their rings, but their process was not a violation of S.K.'s patent.

I don't have my ring (not for another week), yet, but I'm pretty excited to be getting a tension setting at about 1/3 the cost of the Niessing's or the Kretchmer's.

I know that Jan and Brad of DBOF carry them, and someone from one of the boards went through Mickey Roof.com for theirs, but those are the only two I've seen mentioned thus far. I happened on a local place that carried them, so I ordered it through them.

I hate bumping my own posts but I fear this one will get buried...

mainly I'm looking for on finger tension ring pics

and (expert?) advice as to whether seeking out a stone that has at
least moderate leakage through the pavilion would actually be a good
idea (if everything else checked out) - if it will be set so the
pavilion is completely open....
