Vendor suggestions for 5-stone ring reset?

Hi everyone, after a very long process of trying to make up my mind, followed by waiting a long time for the finished product, I have a new 5-stone trellis ring. Unfortunately, after all that, I don't really like it. It's not a quality issue, I just feel the ring isn't really me and I need something simpler. (My customer experience with the vendor was not a happy one so I think that's coloring my feelings about the ring too.)

The diamonds are beautiful so I think what I need is a reset. I'd love to go with Whiteflash because of their stellar CS, but they won't work with outside diamonds... recs for a great, responsive vendor who will make me a new 5-stone in 18k yellow gold?
 
I would ask IDJ if they will do it? Not sure if they will or not. The other option is David Klass. He sets client's stones all the time.
 
Can we see it?
 
Try IDJ, BE, or BGD if they'll work with outside stones.

It's a pretty ring! I would have preferred it to curve with the finger better.

Can you tell us what you don't like about it? It might help for recomendations of jewelers.
 
It is pretty - is it the trellis part of the ring that you don't care for?

Yes- part of it is that it doesn't curve with my finger as much as I'd like. It also comes up higher than I'd envisioned. The other issue is that it's rose gold, and I should have stuck with yellow. I wanted something similar in tone to the 18k rg in my Cartier trinity ring and this is much pinker/more coppery.

Yes, I think I just didn't quite get that trellis rings by necessity are not low-set rings. I'm not used to wearing rings at all tbh and I can't seem to get used to the feel of it on my finger/projecting up so much. BGD said they always set their rings as low as possible, and I believe that's true, but it just turns out to be too high for me.
 
It is a beautiful ring, and not terribly off your finger. I understand your preference though about having a low-set ring. What I would do is wear it for a week or so and see if you get used to it, or if it still bugs you.

How about something like this from TheGemstoneProject? The one shown has larger stones that yours, but even so it is very low. If you notice, the center stone's culet is actually sunk into the shank. You could reach out to her with your diamond speces and get a quite in the metal of your choice.

Are you still within the return period for the entire ring and stones?

No... I'm pretty sure as a custom order it was never returnable.
 
Its quite lovely and the same as my 3 stone. I’ve never thought of mine as high set. How does it look next to the band?

Ok. I was just asking because WF has excellent customer service in my experience and their stones are just as beautiful. But only if you could return the ring you have.

Do you mind me asking if the BGD problems were communication issues that were coloring your feelings on it? I feel like I have never had good communication/service with them in all my inquiries. Takes them forever to get back with me. Maybe it's because my projects were smaller or simple? Who knows but I have tried and tired with them (I have owned three pieces) and each time it's the same. I finally quit considering them as a possibility anymore despite their beautiful pieces.

CVB has beautiful settings for sure. She could definitely make you something lovely. I do suggest you search her feedback as well though. The good and the bad to make sure she is the right one for you. You will wait.

I have had excellent service from VC too.

Can you share specs on all the stones please.

Well, it was never intended to wear with a band but I did try it next to my Memoire shared-prong band (very low-set, 11 diamonds, .42 ctw) and it definitely does not work!

Yes, I was really unhappy with the communication. I've worked with them many times before, but the SA I used to work with (Denise), who was lovely, is no longer there.

The center stone is an heirloom diamond I had recut by BGD- about 70 points, FVS2. Sidestones are .210 GSI1, .204 GVS2, .270 GSI1, and .258 GSI1.
 
By the way- another idea I had was to forget about the ring idea for now and have the center stone made into a pendant and the two small pairs made into stud earrings for my daughters- suggestions for vendors who could do that instead also welcome!

OMG I used to only work with Denise at BGD too and then my last upgrade I got someone who was good but not stellar like Denise so I haven't returned since.

Denise is at IDJ now btw.
