First off just want to says thanks to everyone on the forum. I have been reading up for the past few months and have learned so much.

So my budget necessitates trying to find a clone of the Tiffany's setting shown below. It is a round solitaire with channel set square diamonds that flair out a bit as it gets closer to the center stone, in platinum. Tiffany's wants $24,000 for a 1.13 H VS2. I am hoping to spend more like $10-12K. So I figure $9-10K for the center stone in the 1-1.2ct G/H VS2/SI1 range. That leaves $2-3K for the setting.

My problem is I haven't had much luck finding similar settings online. Leon Mege has a great version on his website so I got a quote , and it was a bit over my budget to say the least. Hoping someone knows of some other more ready made options, or if I will have to go custom and adjust my budget accordingly. Thanks in advance. (I am in the NE and have easy access to NYC for GOG, WF, etc).

That is a beautiful setting and one that needs to be custom made to be the quality of the Tiffany, in my opinion. Victor Canera certainly could do it, but he is probably as high as Leon. I think those are carre cut stones and they are expensive. They really are gorgeous, though!

Very similar except carre cuts could be on the shank instead of french cuts.

And realistically, you can't expect to get a ring of equal quality for half the price of a Tiffany ring. Try maybe 30% or so less.

so nice setting

I am very curious which ring you ended up choosing since I too am on the search for something comparable to the Tiffany ring mentioned above.

I don't know if you are looking any longer for this ring however there is someone selling this ring on eBay, it has the laser inscribed info on the inside of the band and they have all the original paperwork. The item number is 360731793860. Just so you know though it is a 4.75 band and this is a very difficult ring to size. If you are sizing down it can cause gaps between the side stones and if you are going up in size make sure in both cases to have a very experienced jeweler doing the work because the side stones can chip. Have 'shots' put in which are two little balls of matching metal if it is a little loose or the ring shifts around too much on your finger. I am young and I always get this done even though they say it is for people with arthritis.

Good luck it is my favorite setting!
