My first post on SMTB
5k CAD (4k USD) budget.
I had been debating between VCA Alhambra Studs and other options for awhile and finally pulled the trigger. There just was not great investment and iconic pieces at that price range. For studs, the best I can do was 2 x 0.9 J SI1. I already got my wife diamind hoops.
Now, between VCA Alhambra Sweet and Vintage, get the Vintage. You just cannot appreciate the iconic design with the Sweet. Too tiny.
Between WG and YG, we decided to go with YG. While WG gives cleaner apperance (and they use whiter pearl), YG just looks more classy and YG color provides defined outline and definition.
Now between Frivole and Alhambra, this one was really tough. The polish and 3D effect of Frivole were unreal. Actually, it looked slightly better and more substantial. However, it was a bit too youthful, whereas Alhambra was for all ages and all occasion. Now, during finally inspection, I noticed one was really white and other other displayed red and green. I was really debating to ask for another set that has more consistency between two studs. But... It is pearl and that is how it is. I get to have VCA pearls of different characters. My wife did not mind the color difference and actually preferred that.
Here are couple photos. Overall... VCA is Damn expensive. But I am satisfied and happy. I am more excited than my wife.
