Hello everyone!
I'm fairly new to PriceScope and have been lurking, reading, and learning a lot about diamonds and rings! I'm so excited for this part of my life as I just recently (April 14, 201
gotten engaged to the love of my life. He proposed with a Victor Canera Emilya in Canera European Round. I am incredibly happy, but atlas, I am a bit confused on sizing and the wedding band process.
When we started engagement ring shopping back in Nov 2017, my ring size was 5 (at least thats what the salesperson at Tiffanys told me). However, when Fiance proposed, we realized it was too big. We recently sent the ring down to resize to 4.5 and I'm still feeling that it is still a bit loose. Fiance had propose that we change it to 4.5 first because if we go down one size, Victor would need to reshank it. My weight has been fluctuating so I guess sizing down to 4.5 is a good idea. Here's the thing, my finger is tapered and I feel like the ring twirls, is that normal? When I wash my hands, I feel like the ring is about to come off and that terrifies me! Secondly, I'm also left handed (yet my finger size is smaller on my left than right - is that weird?) and have been thinking about wearing it on my right hand since it fits better.
Here's the second part - my Emilya has pave donuts. Fiance and I both love the pave on the donut but really, at that time, I didn't think about matching the wedding band to the e-ring. Now I'm at a point where I should be thinking about it and am kind of confused and lost. Do I need a custom notched spacer or can I get a straight platinum spacer from someone other than VC? If I don't wear the e-ring and wedding band together often, do I even need a spacer? Some of my concerns are that my hands are tiny and pudgy and I feel like I don't have enough finger space for e-ring, spacer, and wedding band. Another thought is to order a notched wedding band but what if I want to wear it by itself, wouldn't that look funny? I think that would bother me...
Would you reshank the e-ring, buy the matching wedding band with VC or consider just wearing the wedding band (any type, doesnt have to be VC) on left and moving the e-ring to right hand so I wouldn't even need to resize? When people get married, do they wear the wedding band on left and e-ring on right? What about people that are left handed? I'm not really a big jewelry person so I'm still trying to figure out what's more comfortable for me. By the way, if I were to send it to VC for reshank, is it possible to take out the pave donut?
Thank you so much for reading and I look forward to your responses and ideas!
Kindly, Kuri
