My fiancée and I had decided before getting engaged that since I love jewelry, reading about jewelry/diamonds and will be wearing my engagement ring forever, it made sense for me to decide what I would like, especially since I don’t wear rings and had no idea what style I even wanted initially. Thankfully I came across pricescope during my research!
After deciding the ring and diamond style, I narrowed it down to two vendors - Victor Canera and another vendor popular on this site. I spoke to both vendors on the phone and Victor was absolutely wonderful. He was patient and answered all my questions (and was the same with my fiancée when dealing with him). Based on my experience speaking with Victor and reading all the reviews of his work, I chose an Emilya design and adapted it to my liking. No donut so that I could wear a wedding band flush, cathedral style, cushion halo with a round solitaire diamond etc.
For the diamond itself, I wanted my fiancé to be the one to pick it out as I didn’t know exactly sure when he would be buying/proposing but I narrowed it down to VC and another popular Pricescope vendor and gave him specs I would be happy with. For example, I would be happy with an I or J as long as it would an ideal cut (H&A CBI, etc).
My fiancé ended up working solely with VC for both the diamond and ring. VC didn’t have a diamond at the time that fit the specs and price my fiancée was looking for, but Victor let him know about several stones that would soon be available and were in the correct range – one of which ended up being the one! Victor was great in dealing with timing, logistics and any other questions my fiancée had and was able to get the ring delivered a couple days before our trip to Scotland/Italy where he proposed .
One thing I really appreciated about VC was that although he was more than happy to speak with me, I didn’t feel like he was pressuring me to make a purchase. The other vendor reached out to me at least 4 different times telling me that my fiancée had not reached out to them yet and once was after I specifically said Please don’t contact me as I want to be surprised. I found this very frustrating and reminded me of a car salesman instead of what should be a magical time for me. I had narrowed the diamond vendor to two vendors but it’s also up to my fiancé on who to reach out to, ya know?
Now back to the ring and diamond. The ring is absolutely beautiful and everything I had dreamed it would be! I wear a lot of jewelry but not rings as I unfortunately received my father’s stubby fingers. However, the ring is so gorgeous, it looks perfect and I can’t stop staring at it. The Victor Canera H&A diamond itself is absolutely beautiful and lives up to all my expectations.
