Hi,

I am currently having Victor Canera make me an Emilya ring. I have a 1.51 Radiant cut diamond for the center stone. Originally I had my ring done by a local jeweler but have never been happy with it and thanks to everyone on this site I found VC. My question is that my original ring was size 4 1/4 but was too loose and would spin and if worn alone looked funny because it would be to loose. Victor is suggesting I make it a size 4 but I am afraid it will then be too tight. Should I trust his instincts and just make it a 4? Thanks in advance!!

Well, you are talking about a quarter size. Sounds like it should be the fix. Go to a jewelry store and try on their sizing rings to see what feels comfortable to you.

For me personally I found that it makes a big difference as to whether I want to decide to wear two rings all the time, or whether I want to wear it alone sometimes. You gotta make that decision now.

My rings are sized somewhat perfectly for being worn alone. When worn together, they are unfortunately too tight. So I am going to resize them and wear two rings together all the time.

I personally would rather have them fit perfectly when worn together. If i decide to wear the e-ring alone, I could just put a piece of tape or something if it really bothers me. Too-tight wedding set sucks for me.

So it depends on whether you intend to wear it alone or to often wear it with other rings and don’t mind it being slightly tighter when stacked with other rings. I mind a lot haha. Pick the exact, perfect size for the combination you’d wear the most often (e.g. alone or stacked with wedding band.)

I have an emerald cut eternity ring and when worn with my original engagement ring my engagement ring was till too loose and would spin around. If I tried to wear it alone, forget it, it was way too loose. So probably going from a 4 1/4 to a 4 might be a smart move. Also I am in no way heavy but currently at my heaviest and trying to lose a little weight so that is something I should probably consider.

Can an Emilya setting with diamonds on the donut and stems even be worn with another ring without a spacer?

Hi CTs, if you always wear it alone, I would suggest sizing it to the 4. If you also wear it with a band you may want to think about leaving it a 4.25 and using a ring noodle when wearing alone. To me - tight rings are uncomfortable....!

I’d keep it at 4.25, if you experience swelling, or wear it with a band. Otherwise, size it down to a 4.

You know whether your finger size has fluctuated in the past. If it doesn’t fluctuate much go with the 4. The head heavy (relative heaviness) of the Emilya will contribute to spinning. I generally have a spinning problem too. I have a tight 4.5 and after working out on a daily basis it spins like crazy, even with a wide base and two stacked bands. I probably should have gone with 4.25 but I was being paranoid.

Update: I went to a local jeweler and checked my finger size and I am a 4 so Victor is making my new ring that size.
