Approximately 0.70ct Center Stone, measurement (5.76-5.79x3.53mm).
Looking for a Vatche Royal Crown Setting.
Shall I go with the #211 (Center Stone 0.50ct)or #927 (center Stone 0.75ct?
Please help!!!
My fiancee's e-ring has a 1.31 carat center stone, and we were actually looking at those settings for a while. I think I remember being told that if you're between sizes, it's better to get the bigger size setting, so we were considering the 1.5 carat setting. So I would say, the model #927 (center stone 0.75ct) would be more appropriate, but that's something the vendor you're getting the d'vatche setting from should definitely be able to answer.
The right setting for your .7 carat is the #927. I ordered a midrange carat size and was told to select the Vatche setting that accommodated the next largest carat. I was also told that the benefit of getting the ring set by Vatche is that you get a lifetime guarantee on the quality and craftsmanship of the setting (which is probably true with a lot of other designers).
Besides, most people usually upgrade their purchase to a bigger size later in the future so the bigger setting will better suit such a decision.
regardless of whether or not you want to upgrade, the correct setting for your stone is #927. The #211 setting is for approximately 0.5 carat or less, and 0.70 carats is significantly larger. It is not meant for a 0.70 carat stone.
Have you thought about going directly to the vendor that's ordering the setting for you?
There was a question on which one GOG needed to order for the .71 that we purchased from them. It ended up being the #927. The impression that I got was not that the 211 was for anything up to .5 and the 927 for anything up to .75 at all.
I'd just go straight to whoever your purchasing the setting from so that they can find out for you.
Thanks for your input. Does you diamond look smaller in the #927 setting? Or in reality the diamond looks the same regardless of the model #211 or #927.
