First, I’d like to thank everyone involved in my journey to find the perfect ring for my fiancé. They are:

- Larry Van Craeynest for crafting a marvelous setting;

Just in case anyone is curious how the macro photos above were taken, here's a photo of my setup (if you can call it that). You can find everything you need at Home Depot or Lowe's for roughly $30, and figure $5 for a piece of glass and some art paper.

You will need a tripod and a SLR, and ideally a macro lens. If you need any help, just let me know!

And before we go to handshots - here's where I proposed last Friday! I couldn't do anything lavish because she would've figured it out, so we went on a walk after dinner along the Strand above the beach. I did consider proposing on the pier but one of my friends did that at night, and dropped the ring into the sand below. His (now) wife was not happy at the time...

Anyways - Walking is one of her favorite things to do, and it was the perfect night for it. The moon was out, hardly any wind, there was no one out (strange for Manhattan Beach) and it was nice and warm, 70 degrees or so. I'll spare the finer details, but I'll just say I'm a lucky man to have her
