I am sorry for bothering you about this matter but I need to know the value of a 44.5 mm Chrysoberyl Ring. My grandfather cut, faceted, and polished the ring He was good friends with a Fabergé descendant.

Your best bet is to take it to a good appraiser. It's impossible to tell the value of a piece from a photo. What a wonderful heirloom to have!

Chrysoberyls are rare in enormous sizes. Get it checked out by a gemologist.

Do you mean 24.5mm? 44.5mm is 1.75 inches, which doesn't seem to fit the picture's scale. My 151.65ct citrine is 38x33mm. It dwarfs the quarter on my desk.

Either way- it's a huge chrysoberyl. Have it verified for authenticity. If it comes back as authentic CONGRATULATIONS!
