Our favorite postal worker retired this Spring and we never got to give him this year's gift. I wish we could contact him and give it to him because he really was a great postal worker. We don't yet have a regular here anymore and we get different postal delivery people every day it seems. Not sure what to do about the holiday gift.

@missy I wonder if your local post office would be willing to accept the gift and contact your postal worker to let him know it’s there? They may not since he’s retired and because of liability but maybe?

That is a great idea. I guess instead of cash we could write him a personal check so that way no one would be tempted vs if we gave cash to the local PO on behalf of Chris. Chris is such a great guy and we didn't know he was retiring because we were in Brooklyn for the first 5 months of 2020 and apparently he decided to retire early. Last summer he was telling us he was thinking about retiring in a couple of years. I guess Covid moved the retirement date up.

We usually give our mail man a gift card. I always leave a note in the mailbox for him to come to the door just in case a substitute was delivering the day I want to give him his card. I haven't seen our usual one lately, so I do need to call the PO and see what's going on. He might have retired.

To the OP, I sold something on Etsy and sent by Priority Mail on Tuesday and it was supposed to be delivered Friday. It's still not there today, either. So the mail really is slow right now, period, at least in our area!
