Personally I far prefer a 10x loupe for this purpose, I cannot see inclusions properly with IS. Loupes can be relatively inexpensive so I would invest in one as well as an IS if possible.Date: 1/15/2010 4:03:14 PM

I know the idealscope image's purpose is to measure light leakage, but would you also be able to use it to aid in determining clarity?
Nope, I have a smaller uncertified diamond with an inclusion in the center of the table and my loop is how I found it. IS just showed it leaked a lot of light.Date: 1/15/2010 4:03:14 PM
