I know the idealscope image''s purpose is to measure light leakage, but would you also be able to use it to aid in determining clarity?

no.

Personally I far prefer a 10x loupe for this purpose, I cannot see inclusions properly with IS. Loupes can be relatively inexpensive so I would invest in one as well as an IS if possible.

Nope, I have a smaller uncertified diamond with an inclusion in the center of the table and my loop is how I found it. IS just showed it leaked a lot of light.

Ditto.

I''d invest in a loupe too but if you didn''t have one handy, someone here mentioned reversing the idealscope (put the red cone to your eye) as a substitute loupe. Seems to work.

Definitely not.
Some inclusions seem 5 times worse and many others are missed.

When I am buying from large parcels I will reject obvious bad stones - but I always loupe generally after my ideal-scope and color rejection

No. Use the proper tool for the job, a 10x loupe or microscope.
