Urgent question - need excellent diamond setting specialist in NY

Hello all,

Sorry for the "urgent" tag but I need to commit to a purchase tomorrow and the suppluer cannot set the stone, since his workshop is closed. Can you recommend an excellent workshop, in Manhattan, which could set a solitaire diamond in platinum 950 within 24 hours (friday to saturday). they will need to provide the ring (simple sol. style).

I have never actually used this jeweler, so I can't actually "recommend" him, but since you seem to be in something of a desperate situation (time-wise) I thought I would throw it out there. Make of it what you will.

The shop is called "Wedding Ring Originals", and is located in the 50s on Lex. I went in a few weeks ago and spoke to the owner (I can't remember his name), who struck me as being very professional and honest. He apparently has been in the jewelry business in the City for decades. (Not that that necessarily means anything, I'm just saying.) I got his name from a New York magazine article recommending good places to shop for engagement rings.

I don't know how anything about how quickly he can set your stone, but the store does have a very large number of settings to choose from. Might be worth a phone call. Website is www.weddingrings.com.
