I wouldn''t consider it unless you have time for an independent appraisal before the return period is up. It could easily appraise as an H or I I1.

an eye-clean SI2, eh? what is HIS definition of eye-clean, and what is his eye sight?

also, is a $7000 purchase something you really want to rush?

To be fair, there are a few PS members who have eye clean SI2 stones. However, I believe those stones are mostly graded by GIA and AGS, which tend to be more strict on their grading. Because it is an EGL cert, it''s possible that the clarity grade could be even lower than that, and at that point I''m not sure it would be eye-clean.
Do you know what this vender''s definition of eyeclean is? You should find out. You should also be aware of a return policy for the stone in case you don''t like it in person. You could also have it shipped to an independent appraiser for a second opinion on the grades, but that would take longer than your timeframe.

However, it really might not be worth it. Rushing such an expensive purchase is probably not the best idea, and I definitely wouldn''t do it without the added security of having a very strict lab report. I think you might be able to find a better stone somewhere else, and might want to reconsider your timeframe just to ensure you''re getting what you want!

I agree; I would really wonder about a stone that was graded as SI2 by EGL. I do own an eye cleam SI2, but it is AGS graded.

If I were you, I''d wait until you get back into the country to make any decisions. There are plenty of other diamonds out there, so there is no reason to make a rushed decison on this one.
