My budget isnt high. preferably 6k n below
I am thinking of getting a strong blue to counter the K though....

any comment on this? i tried to search video on v strong blue. only saw one of the strong blue fluro diamond (by others not under same co)

http://www.briangavindiamonds.com/diamonds/diamond-details/1.180-k-vs1-round-diamond-ags-bl-104076040015#

For myself lol because i'm thinking USD is going up and diamond prices might go up too... so... but i am not sure abt a K diamond though... i have another diamond but its only a 0.42 E VVS1 EX/EX/VG or something.... so a K might be a bit way out compared to E. Is it possible to see from the video if this diamond is not that warm but bright enough?

i'm not from the US so i cannot buy n then do an exchange as this would mean paying 2x taxes @ my side.
Please advise. Thanks!

p/s i requested for HA pic but was informed they dont provide that for this range.

this is another diamond but L
i was actually a bit hmm confused on whether should I be getting a L with no flur vs K with v strong blue so the K might look way brighter than the K though....

and the AGS certification.... i dont understand the circle image. Why some is the most inner circle green while this is red?

pls advise
Thanks!

You should find a B&M retailer where you can see some J, K, L stones (graded by GIA or AGS) in person.

Only then will you know if the body color is too much for you. This is something that varies for everyone. Many will never drop below H color, while others will suggest M-colored stones without issue. It is a personal preference and something you'll have to see with your own eyes.

FYI - the 'inner circle' is green/red depending upon Pavilion angle. Not an important detail to pay attention to.

i have seen one or two IRL before... K and L
can see that it looks warm from the side. havent seen one with brown tint yet though. i think i can still accept K,L colors even though i do have an E color but its small. rather go darker tone than lower clarity as my eyesight is great. i cannot accept seeing the flaws though.

comparing to E face up, i can see the E sparkles more though but i have no idea if its due to the cut as there's no EX/EX/EX and the fluorescence to compare that gives a good result IRL. maybe i shld go n try my luck again.

i wonder if a brown tint diamond will have its tone alter after setting in a rose gold prongs/setting

I like a brown tint vs a yellow tint personally.

This is an AGS000 (K/VS2) for about $5k.

Here is an AGS000 J/VS2 $5580

Edit...an I VS2

Lots of choices for $6k. Is that your budget?

Edit ...if you are good with a K color that BGD K would be my first choice.

I saw a 2c princess cut that was a GIA K and beautiful...now I realize that it had a brown tint. It had a more dimensional look than near colorless stones. It was really lovely. I prefer brown tint in diamonds to yellow....my favorite tint besides pink which is rare.

I've also seen a MRB L color that wasn't yellow at all. It had a steely tint to it. When you get to K/L colors I think that the color of tint is important. I would not particular want one with yellow tint.

The SBF will be very nice and add personality to the stone.

Here is a thread of K color.

thank you all for the help
initially i consider OEC but after thinking through, i think i prefer the arrows shown in the cut than the 'flowers' in the middle :naughty:

however i feel that the way OEC is cut actually makes a diamond looks bigger and also more white from top view... its like how the cut reflects the light (from what i see frm video but i never saw one IRL n dont think i will have a chance to do so) to the eyes as they seem like concave to me. ....

A true hearts and arrows stone will seem larger because it will have edge to edge brightness. I think if you are used to an E you should stick to a H or an I at the very lowest. Very strong fluorescence isn't necessarily going to make a K or an L look less tinted that is a myth.

yup but a H, I is going to burst my budget.. unless i should consider other merchants too? BGD (around $6000 K, VS1 , 1.18) seem to be slightly pricey than other merchants? n I'm thinking since their cut is said to be good, so a K might not be that bad in reflecting? lights etc

or Which other merchants shld i be looking at?

btw that brown tinted K is ard 2900$ wondering if it makes a good earring within my budget. but probably means i need to find another of almost the same tone :eh:

i'm going to go thru the links posted here... i need to widen my options. afterall the diamonds available online r so many.... :naughty:

Thanks

Sorry i forgot to add my budget for earrings is 4k (each side). ring is 6k
size as big as possible

i just saw these 3 diamonds. as i need to submit 2 more diamonds for the AEST etc images together with that K faint brown http://www.jamesallen.com/loose-diamonds/round-cut/0.90-carat-k-color-vvs1-clarity-excellent-cut-sku-425037 (which i like for the price  n sparkles seem ok to novice liked me)

so i am also thinking of these 3

http://www.jamesallen.com/loose-diamonds/round-cut/0.82-carat-i-color-vs1-clarity-excellent-cut-sku-416356

http://www.jamesallen.com/loose-diamonds/round-cut/0.80-carat-g-color-vs2-clarity-excellent-cut-sku-425498 (slightly not in the budget)

http://www.jamesallen.com/loose-diamonds/round-cut/0.80-carat-h-color-vs2-clarity-excellent-cut-sku-394200

are these 3 good options for earrings? should i choose the i and h for earrings?

i like how the H looks :wall:
so i better make a trip to see some Ks diamond to really make sure i can accept K as ring. (That BGD. the links for james Allen is 1 carat. GOG i like the shapes etc but i dont think i can accept SI2 when the flaws is in the center. i tend to pick them up well enough with my eyes) ... i will imagine myself trying to 'scratch' my diamond, seeing if its dirt or something on the surface

i prefer to have ard 1.2+/- a bit so my limited budget is really..

thank u

As it turns out, i was unable to find any J beyond diamond @ local store. I saw some SI2 but it doesnt help when the lights just make the diamond sparkles... no way to try n examine the impurities? 'eye clean'.
