Hello, (hopefully soon) my hubby will be ''surprising'' me with the go-ahead to upgrade my setting. I have a 1.02ct princess stone, G color. Do I........

get this Verragio setting with sidestones and at touch of pave? (I don''t know what I''d do yet for the wband, my current one is plain platinum but 3mm and i''ve never like how wide it is. I might do pave, or shared prong, or just plain 2mm).

ORRRRRR do I go with the Whiteflash Legato Pave with matching pave wedding band?

I''d appreciate any opinions!! Both have so much of what I want...... WF has thin bands, keeps the classic look of a solitaire with a little oomph. Verragio has those beautiful sidestones for more bling, and I LOVE that the shank tapers in towareds the stones. And the pave touch doesn''t hurt!!

I like #1. Really, really beautiful and more blingy. However, I would wonder about the pave on the sides rubbing against the w-band. Maybe the stones are set high enough that it wouldn''t be a problem but I can''t tell.

ooo, good point. i''ve tried on other verragios, though not that exact one. they seem ok height-wise with a wband, but i will have to remember to be SURE of that when i try this one on. thanks for the advice!

For me, the first Verragio has just too much going on. I know the look is popular now, but there''s too much stuff for me. I would worry that the look would be dated in a few years since there are so many designs out right now that are completely pave encrusted with diamonds everywhere.

On the other hand I love the WF legato setting...but I''m biased because it''s a lot like my setting!

hmmmm, another good point. verragio makes the same setting but without the pave. i plan on considering that one too, and if it keeps the look ''in style'' over the years that may be the way to go. also less maintenance worries. and a little less $. then i could do a diamond wband, maybe a petite memoire. hmmmmm.....got me thinking!! by the way, i have been admiring your set, it''s beautiful!!!

I would really like the Verragio without the pave. I think the setting would be much classier without it. But, that is my taste, not yours, so get what you would like!

Thanks for the compliment on mine...I love it too. I almost got a solitaire by Leon Mege or Mark at ERD, but once I saw this Ritani, I was sold! My matching WB should be arriving any day and I don't know if I will be able to wait until October to wear it. What FI doesn't know won't hurt him right?

But really, if the WF legato is anything like mine in person, the subtle shimmer just glows and I get tons of compliments on it. I feel like it's basic enough to look classic for a long time, but still a bit fun and trendy.

Also, you might also want to check out the Ritani like mine in person. very very delicate and it looks really amazing with a princess stone.

thank you neatfreak.......i''ll be obsessively checking for posts of pics with your wband! any chance you''ll sneak one on before october?

and the ritani has caught my eye too! i''ve seen a thread or two discussing with cinnamon who got the WF and the difference between the Ritani pave and WF pave. I think I may end up liking the Ritani pave, but I just adore that Legato head. I won''t know what to do THEN (once I see Ritani and fall in love with their pave effect).

acutally Ritani has been doing the head on their rings like that for some time. Lynn B had WF make her ring with it and then it became a staple on their site. So, Ritani could probably easily make that head on a pave band for you. Here's one of their 3 stone rings which I'd bet you could get with all princess stones.

holy moly!!!! thank you mrssalvo, HOW HAVE I NOT SEEN THAT?!? i have been searching and searching and searching..........

Check Pearlman''s website. I swear they have every Ritani ever made!

I like the WF set and the Ritani. I''d always go with a matching band no matter which you choose.

This would definitely be my first choice after reading what you are looking for in a set. Nice find MrsSalvo

LOVE the Ritani and the WF bands....Ritani''s bands will probably be thinner though than WF''s...they are really super thin. I love that look- you just have to decide what you want.

Good luck!

The very first one you posted is gorgeous...that is the one that I would pick!

Ditto! My second choice would be the Whiteflash Legato Pave setting. Yum!

Neither, I''d go for the similar look with either the ritani three stone or the ritani solitaire with the pave band. The ritani rings are thinner and more delicate and a similar look that you are going for, but in my opinion are prettier styles.

you know, ritani kept catching my eye as well...........and now enough people have chimed in with how much they like them that my choices have definately broadened.

but that verragio...... i''m glad there have been a few votes for that as it still gives me that pitter patter when i see it.

aiyiyi, well keep the opinions coming! although i''m still torn, and now have some new rings to consider, they are a big help to me. thank you to all who have responded!!!!!!!!!

You might want to call up bill pearlman, because sometimes he sends settings to people so that they can "test drive" them and see what they look like in person. He might be able to send you the ritani ring settings you are thinking about so that you can look at them better. Then maybe you could go to a store and look at a verragio in person to get a feel for which you like better.

thanks kcoursolle, that''s a great suggestion. i was actually wondering if anyone did that (sent out settings for a ''showing''). i thought i had read postings where a vendor did that for a customer. i like the idea of buying from pearlman''s too (i wish he carried verragio) so if he were willing to do that it could work out quite well!!

for further reference, here is the verragio without the pave on the prongs. it''s not the best pic of it, but the best i could find that would allow me to pull it off the web. something about those v-shaped heads/prongs. i LOVE ''em.

I LOVE the Verragio...but then again I love three stone rings and what they symbolize...let us know what you decide.

That Verragio setting is really interesting. I definitely prefer it without the pave, though. I agree with neatfreak in that it has too much going on with pave. But it''s your choice, not ours, and I think the "pitter-patter" is what you should listen to!

To throw something additional into the mix, how about the Ritani endless love (I like it with a halo, but it''s nice without one too)?

thanks jstarfireb! i go back and forth between the pave and no pave, i like both. but i do still have to see them in persion (i''ve seen verragio, just not these exact styles) and i think...hope....that one will jump out at me as the clear choice. but just when i feel like i really LOVE that setting, i look at the WF and.......i''m right back where i started. the WF i can''t see in person, but others here have it and their pics are just as beautiful and they rave about it.

i had been eyeing the ritani as well, and a few others here have mentioned it. that''s another that i must definately try on before making a final decision. i have a feeling i''m going to ''fall'' for ritani. from the responses posted so far, it seems that if it were between WF and Ritani, Ritani would be the clear choice.

question for you neatfreak (if you come back) or anyone familiar with ritani...... endless love''s pave goes all the way around, correct? are you hard on your rings? are you concerned about the wear to the diamonds? have you had any issues thus far?

that was something i forgot about, WF legato pave leaves a little space w/o pave which i like for wear reasons and for sizing reasons. in 5 years i haven''t had to resize my ering or wband, but one never knows.......

i can always ask this of ritani/vendor of course, but any chance you know if they will customize the endless love to go 3/4 around rather than full?

again, many thanks for all of your help!!

Actually the Ritani is only 3/4 pave too(well almost full except for a teeny maybe 5mm strip). I have heard that you can have them made without the sizing band, but the standard is to leave the bit of metal. My ring is even a bit big sometimes and it doesn''t turn enough to make the band ever appear at the top so it''s nice to have just in case.

I am pretty hard on my ring, I''m active, I wear it everywhere (biking, dog park, school, yoga, etc.), and I throw it in the ultrasonic at least once a week and scrub it everyday. I have had my local jeweler check my stones once so far and they didn''t have to do a thing, said they were extremely well set and "in there". But I haven''t had it long enough for my info to be truly reliable...but so far so good!

I purchased the Ritani at least partially due to the fact that I searched high and low online for people reporting problems/complaints about the pave and couldn''t find even one. I also talked to at least 5 jewelers who stocked/knew of Ritani, and all had nothing but good things to say about the craftsmanship, even the ones that didn''t stock Ritani in their stores.

I think if you''re going to get pave, Ritani is one of the very well respected companies out there with good craftsmanship.

thank you neatfreak!! i''m so excited there is a ''spacer'' on the ritanis, that was an important feature to me. it''s fantastic to hear from someone else who did thier research, has the product, and loves it.....

thanks mbr102865! i love what they symbolize as well, and another meaningful symbolization that really makes me like it more is that we have two beautiful kids. so the big stone represents hubby, and the two smaller represent my other precious gems!

to all who like the verragio, jazmine, SIMFC, Diamond*Dana, jstarfireb, thank you! i''m glad i got some votes for that one as well because i still do love it. it''s one of the few 3stones that really spoke to me. i love that you can see the profiles of the diamonds, i love vprong heads, and i love that the shank tapers in towads the stones. it was hard for me to find a 3stone that still had a profile that wow''d me and wasn''t too heavy. when this one popped up on my screen think i jumped out of my chair and got all excited. whereas with the pave (WF/Ritani) i liked it, and kept going back to it, and tried on a thin pave, and it grew on me more and more...........
