Upgrading my earrings!

I lasted a whole 4 months before getting the itch to GO BIGGER! :rolleyes2:

I'm going from .66ctw J/VS2 WF ACAs to 1.322ctw J/VS2s and have to send them off today.

The only thing I didn't think through was that I literally have nothing to put in my ears until the new earrings come. I may have to make a CZ purchase on amazon right now, lol!

Thoughts on these?

I put them in yellow gold 8-prong studs (again), so the J color never bothered me

Yesss! Go big or go home. How could they not be great? I think you’ll love the larger size. Also love the yellow gold 8 prong- that’s what I have too!
 
Looks like they'll be sparklers! I like the first stone's proportions better (but less on IS) but at the size the little difference should be hardly noticeable IRL.

Yay! How exciting. :appl: My new 1.26ct. pair are a bit lighter/smaller than the ones you’re considering and I love them. I think they’re absolutely lovely - a great size and such sparkle bombs. So, it should help to deter DSS for at least a little while longer than your current pair. :P2:mrgreen2:

They look great! I upgraded like 4 times!:lol: By our (fairly meaningless) "rule", you'll need to upgrade until you reach the total weight of your e-ring, so around 1.5 cts each. Thank goodness for upgrade policies!!!

3.30ctw... truthfully they still feel a little large to me, but not awkwardly so. I have really huge earlobes so that helps. They make every day feel fancy and I love that!

Have you settled on that pair? I can’t wait to see! Such a great size!

I think the total weight of the studs equaling the weight of the center is good, but I think any size per ear is fine as long as it is smaller than the e-ring stone. I'd generally want the e-ring to be the largest diamond, personally. Yours are a fabulous size! 1.65 or so each is great! I could easily wear that size (lobes have room!!), but I already wear larger than almost anyone I am around at just under 1.3 each.

Very true... but I hadn’t known the rule of studs equaling an engagement ring until now. So good to know! I’m taking a screenshot as a reminder that I’ll have some additional upgrading to do! :Up_to_something2::mrgreen2:

That’s the beauty of upgrade policies....you can somewhat soothe yourself by not spending all the money at the same time :lol: the best kind of creeping incrementalism!

They are a very well matched pair and will be gorgeous!!!! I've always been leery of lower colors in MRBs (and still am for rings bc it's on your finger) but after seeing Dee Jay's absolutely mother freaking gorgeous WF 3.2ctw J colored stunners on her earlobes (and literally couldn't stop drooling), I really was persuaded otherwise!!! When I go for my next earring upgrade, I will not be afraid to go lower bc they look SOOO white on the ears!!!

I figure I can always upgrade color later, but I want SIZE NOW. Right now I'm on a yellow gold kick anyway, so Js kind of go perfectly...

I bought some crappy CZs for my ears to wear the next few weeks til my earrings arrive. I may die.

Truth! Hers are AMAZING! No one ever sees J, they just see sparkle bombs!
 
I found over 1 carats each a bit much on the ears myself for everyday wear, so I suppose I'm a rule bender. :D
 
What are you doing with your old settings? If you are selling I wanna know! Haha

@Dee*Jay 's studs were TO DIE FOR. Could not stop staring at them. I have 1.5 ctw studs and every time I look at upgrading I think I would rather have it on my finger so I can look at it! Maybe in time... off to buy lottery tickets!

ETA I am afraid if I had huge studs, I would be looking in the mirror all day and that would make me want plastic surgery, lol!
