Living in Houston at present.

My wife and I got engaged along time ago when we had less money. We are better off now and are looking to ''upgrade'' her engagement ring. It is made up of two aligned-but-offset marquise cut diamonds. What I''d like to know, besides DCI (which has received mixed reviews here!), is there anyone in Houston that is ''safe''(as in will not be a rip-off) to go to and capable of doing a good job. The latter comment is made because we have never seen the setting that we have since we chose it back in the UK 12 years ago.

whiteflash is in Houston I believe. www.whiteflash.com

I would definately recommend Whiteflash. I had my new
E-ring done by them in November and they did a superb job. If I lived in Houston I think I would live at their shop,,,lol. Good luck.

We bought an incredible marquise cut diamond from Whiteflash last year; I highly recommend them.

I just got a beautiful ring and setting from Whiteflash. I would highly recommend them.

Thanks for the advice, I have contacted White Flash and they are 1/2 way betwen work and home!

Does anyone here have a good word to say about DCI and Fred? I have a colleague who had an eternity ring done there and both he and his wife are very very pleased, both with the service they received and the results.

Am really curious

You know, sorry but, I've never heard good about Fred Culler

I also recommend you working with Whiteflash as every jewelry piece I've seen purchased from them has been amazing.

Do some searches on DCI and Fred to see what has come up in the past. Memory says not much is positive.

Whiteflash, on the other hand has done some beautiful work and has many happy customers here. You can search on them as well.

I don't know Fred, but I had a hard time understanding his book - the way he explains diamond quality and shopping checks is very hard to verufy by any standards. PS's logic was clearer, so here I am
