We got engaged in April, I did all the research and we decided on a .72 RB H SI2 good cut and polish, due to financial limitations. We went to a trusted family jeweler who has worked with my fiance''s grandfather and uncles in the past. I am a perfectionist and would prefer an ideal cut D color stone with a clarity of VS2 or higher, so I have been saving to upgrade next year before the wedding. Would it be better for me to contact the jeweler now and tell him what I am looking for or should I wait until next year when I have the extra $1000-$1500 I want to spend? I’m afraid if I wait until next year he might not have exactly what I’m looking for, but calling now might be too soon. What do people generally do in this situation?
