I believe its octagonal ... having eight sides, rather than the six that would make it hexagonal. There are many threads around here, dating back to 2003,4,5 on the lust for Octagonal Pave Halos. Could Nicole be a lurker?

It is a lovely ring though, the side stones are a really nice proportion and the setting looks nice and delicate.
