I bought a diamond from RB, then found this website and found a couple much better stones from JA and WF for $800-$1200 cheaper than the stone I purchased at RB. So I purchased 2 diamonds I was debating and let my fiance decide between them. Well, she decided on the WF ASG0 Diamond, which was absolutely beautiful and 10x more sparkly than the diamond from RB.

So we went back to RB, told them that I was back about the price guarantee and that I had found a much better stone for $800 less. It was the same sales person I had dealt with all along, and she went back to speak with her manager and to my surprise came right back and said "Yes, we will let you return the diamond because there''s not reason we shouldn''t". From what I had read in this forum I was expecting to have to put up a fight, but they even set the new diamond for free!

Anyway, still happy with my overall experience with RB, and my fiance absolutely loves her setting which is exclusive to RB, just wish I would have bought the diamond from WF to begin with.

Props to RB for sticking to their guarantee!

I am surprised that you had no hassle. I didn''t have the same experience with a similar company so I am really thankful that I didn''t go through with the entire purchase.

I also think that it was a really classy move to set it for free for you ... Could customer service be making a comeback?

That is great that they did not give you any trouble, and I am so happy that you found the stone of her dreams!
 
You know I have been going to Robbins Bros in Torrance for over 3 years and I have never encountered any problems there. I''m sorry to see that so many have complaints, but I''m glad you were able to get what you needed. As long as your fiance is happy in the end is all that should matter.
On a second note I think people forget everyone has mark up. It doesn''t matter if its jewelry, groceries, cars or clothes...everyone marks up everything. If they didn''t they would not be in business and it would be a non profit organization. The lesson I hope that everyone gets from pricescope is to do your research before you do your shopping. Everyone has different views on different places and you ultimatley decide on what you spend your money on. While my experience with the Torrance RB store has always been good there are others who feel differently.
My point is simply to do your research and keep an open mind. Make sure you find out why some stores charge more than others and arm yourself with knowledge before spending a lot of money on a purchase.
