Hi Girls....

*sigh*

I am sooooo depressed....

I *think* I am going to have to go with another band... after wearing my new band with my ering and wedding band, I am finding the "thickness" of al lthree WAY too much... in total, with all three rings, the mm width is 7.5 !

I have long fingers, but from the base of my finger to the knuckle is nothing but coverage and I find this uncomfortable.. a thinner band would work better.

I am lovin'' all the BLING, however, my finger actually hurts a bit and I find myself constantly shifting the rings on my finger.

I found a Sheldon Speyer band, the same design, that is 1.7 mm wide and think that may work better.

I can''t return my Bev K band to Pearlman''s... custom... soooooooo I have it listed online and hope someone will love it as much as I do...

Here is the band I am looking at... what do you think ????

Might help if I attached the pic...

Oh, that is no good. Do you really have to be comfortable?

So sorry you are having to go through this. But, I really love the new band. Where did you say it''s from?

HI:

I have a 1mm platinum plain band I wear as a spacer on the rare occasion I want to wear my asscher eternity ring with my ER. Why don''t you get soemthing plain, and wear your new bands alternating with the simple band?

cheers--Sharon

BECG, i''m so sorry the band isn''t working out. it''s so beautiful though. have you considered keeping it anyway and wearing it with just your wedding band or your ering (rather than all 3 together)? or even wearing it by itself. you can mix and match it so many ways! it''s just so unfortunate since you waited so long for it and it looks so gorgeous on your finger.

BECG - I want it if you don''t!

I''m so sorry it didn''t work out for you. You know I can relate - after going through several RHRs to find the right one...

Oh that is too bad....wow I have short fingers and my wedding set is 8.5 mm. Are you sure you wouldn''t get used to it???

What a bummer. I echo Tacori. Are you sure you won''t get used to it?

Awww, BECG, I'm so bummed because I know how excited you were about the band. And you spent all that time waiting!

I completely understand, though. When I was originally looking at spacers, I planned to get a 3+mm band and eventually decided 2.5mm or thinner was better overall. It took a long time to make the decision. Are you suuuuuuuuuuuuure that yours is just too wide??

Some things that helped me decide were:
1. I orderd a couple of fake bands. I figured it was a good way to "test" the overall look without making a big investment. I actually ordered one band that looked exactly like your Bev K, but with alternating sapphires and diamonds, haha.

2. I went back to my favorite SA where we bought our e-ring and told him I needed help. We tried on a whole bunch of bands and he gave me his honest opinion, which was no milgrain, no diamonds and no more than 2.5mm.

I know that Leon knows you need a spacer, have you asked him what his suggestion is? I know you don't have a large selection of jewelers where you live, but is there somewhere you can go to try on bands in different widths? I feel like you need to see some more options before you commit to another ring.

I'm sorry, hon, I know that you really wanted for it to work. If you just aren't sure what you want, you could always have a very thin platinum spacer made until you figure it out...but I think you have some time to think about it.

Oh no!! That is so sad!!

I can see what you are saying though -I guess I didn''t realize it was going to be a spacer band. I htought it was just an alternative to the pave band. I have size 6 fingers and I think that 3 bands (even at 2mm each) would be too much and I can see why you think it is uncomfortable.

In the meantime, is your band the one on Pearlman''s used section? I''m totally going to hit up FI tonight ;-)

Thanks for your responses Girls... :)

OctoberBride2008 ... HEY YOU !!!! My band is not the one on the Pearlmans site... mine is actually listed on.. *whispers*... Ebay... and I thought about asking Bill at Pearlmans to put it on consignment for me... The ring is close to 3000 US and I paid wayyyyyy less than that ! It really sucks because I love the band soooo much... I gotta go check out the Pearlman''s site now !!!!!! Is it the same band ????????

Oh, totally different note.... I am now 100% decided on my dress and my little dress saga is finally over !!!!!!

NewEnglandLady ... Thank you for your kind words.. :) Reading your post made me smile... Your right, I am limited where I live and we did try on quite a few bands and really thought 2.5 mm was the PERFECT width... We didn''t have my wedding band at the time and looking back, we should have waited until then... My wedding band is thicker than I expected, and the engagement ring and wedding band alone are amazing, but with the spacer, it is not something I am sure I could get used to... with the band I am looking at now, which is 1.7 mm, if I absolutely hate it and it doesn''t work, I can return it.. no questions... so that definately helps... however, spending more money right now is difficult... we just paid for the Bev K band... *sigh*

Burk .. The band i posted is from Diane''s Estate Jewelery... it is located in San Fran... I saw it online and loved it !!! It''s a Sheldon Speyer and its 1400 in WG, 1700 in Platinum.... *OUCH*

DiamondNut... *cries*..... I am sooooo bummed out.....

I have waited, like you for sooo long.... I really do think this band will work with your rings because your bands are so thin... My FI has no problem with me keeping the ring and wearing it with whatever, whether it be a right hand ring, etc, but considering we bought it to use as a spacer and now since it is not working, have to purchase another, I would feel bad spending that much on something I really don''t need.... Yeah... I cannot believe I just siad that !!!!!

Having a platinum spacer may be the only option until I can find something that really works...

I would respond to all of you, but my computer won''t let me scroll down... GRRRRRRRRRRRR !!!!!

Thanks again girls for all your suggestions and sympathy... *hugs*

*sigh*

OctoberBride... I just checked the Pearlmans site and it is the same ring, just the specs are different.. mine has a total weight of 0.95 ct and has single milligrain edging. The band on the Pearlmans site is 2.0mm and mine is 2.5mm..

That is an awesome deal though.. seriously awesome... totally hit your FI up... go online and compare prices... you would be saving HUUUUGGGEEEEE !!!!!!!

They must have just got that because it wasn''t there like, even a week ago...

DANG my fat fingies... A 6 1/4 wouldnt work... well, it would, but she''d be SNUG-OOOO-LAAAAAAAA !!!!!!!!!!

Oh no!!! That band was gorgeous, but I am positive that you will find something just as lovely and that feels better on your fingers.

On the bright side, you get to look at MORE diamonds!!!!

I''m so sorry it didn''t work out for you

I''ve come back to look at that beauty several times since you posted it. It''s so delicious.

I hope you find something that works. Good luck!

Oh nooo

I''m so sorry to hear that. I know we were both looking for the same style ring and I was waiting for your review of the BevK. Is there anyway to return it to Pearlmans?

Aw, what a shame. I am a firm believer in what is meant to be will be, so get out there and find your wedding band...she is waiting for you!

hi again BECG, i reread an old email that Julian had sent me and it said that the band is 2mm. did you specifically order a 2.5mm one? long shot but if you didn''t, did they send you a thicker one by mistake in which case, aren''t you entitled to an exchange??

BECG...I hadn''t commented on that BevK band but I was really worried about you wearing that as a spacer band next to your LM...Mainly because it has milgrain and it won''t sit flush next to your ering because the round stones stick out from the setting on the sides. I was afraid it would rub against your ering anyway, rubbing directly onto your diamond pave...I was actually surprised nobody mentioned that at all. So I''m relieved to hear you''re going with another ring but may I suggest going plain, as in a very plain, very thin plat band? Like 1-1.5mm? You can get LM to make you one probably, or get one locally made. To me, a spacer band should be smooth finish and no stones to touch the other bands at all. IIRC, your wband has 3-sided pave, yes? I cannot remember if your ering does or not but I''m thinking it does...?? I think a very thin, very plain, very smooth band is what will protect both of your rings the best. Even that Sheldon Speyer ring above will rub against both of your beautiful rings...at least I think it will. Go plain baby, go plain.

I agree with whoever said things workout for a reason - DNut maybe? Anyways - depending on how much money you get for it, I would consider keeping it and getting the thin plain platinum spacer. The Bev K is too perfect on your hand to just sell it! Especially when you got such a great deal!

I''m glad you have finally settled on a dress - which one did you end up with?

Ditto, Surfgirl. A much as I love that ring too, BECG, I couldnt agree more with what she said. Have Leon make you a very think platinum spacer.....You wont even notice it, and it will protect your gorgeous rings from rubbing against one another. And, I would hold onto the BK band to wear when you dont feel like wearing your w-set....Its such a pretty band and I know you love it, so if your FI doesnt mind...keep it!!! Also, many stacking options with that ring in the future....

Good luck!

I absolutely agree with what Dani said. Keep your gorgeous Bev K and have Leon make you an inconspicuous platinum spacer. You may not feel like wearing your engagement ring and wedding band every day after you''re married. I''m sure you''ll wear them together for a good long time but having options is a great thing!
