I would like to know if any one knows of, or even if there are any unique metals available to make wedding/engagement rings out of. I''m looking for something other than gold, platinum, or even titanium, but something that will hold up as well. Perhaps even some variations of gold, for example, I''ve seen some jewelry made with "purple" gold, as in this link http://www.aspial.com/JewelleryExpertise/je_pg1.html. Thanks for all the information

I saw a ring in stainless steel the other day. It was kind of cool.

Zirconium, Wolfram and Niobium are used. And then there is damascene steel and mokume gane - metals made unusual by tratements.

There are a couple of threads about unusual metals you might want to look up for examples of all these.

A couple of companies will now use a technique to "color" titanium as well. I know that Absolute Titanium has a few different looks if you are just wanting something unsual but still considering titanium: http://www.absolutetitanium.com/k-09.html

do you have a web address for this ring you saw?
