Hello @DejaWiz,

I need some help picking out a new diamond. My husband upgraded my diamond from my 50th birthday. I did quite a bit of research and thought I was getting a great diamond so I purchased a final sale diamond from Luvansh. I included the link to the diamond I purchased below. The diamond looks really pretty inside but as soon as sunlight hits it, it looks blurry and honestly it looks fake. I am going to repurpose this diamond into a pendant and purchase another 3ct to put in my ring. If someone is willing to point me in the right direction, I would really appreciate it. The specs I'm looking for are 3.08 to 3.12 ct Round Brilliant G color or better, VVS2 or better, Ideal proportions with maximum sparkle. My budget is under $2000 but will go as high as $2500 if it's too good to pass up. Thanks in advance for any help I can get!!

Signed,

Ring upgrade gone wrong :(

Can you post pictures showing it looking “fake” as you said? And that link shows a diamond still for sale.. is it your stone?

Here's a few images. Not in direct sunlight but I think you can see the blurriness. Please excuse my nails LOLIMG_8827 3.JPGIMG_8828.JPGIMG_8829 3.JPG

Can you post the link to the lab report and images? As I said above you provided above shows a stone that is still for sale…

I was sure strong fluorescence was going to be the culprit, but nope. I'm not well-versed in LGD, so I'll let the experts weigh in. Just wanted to say Happy Birthday and I hope you find the perfect stone!

Yeah someone more knowledgeable will come along but it is a CVD diamond so I’m guessing internal graining or some other issue with the material.

Someone will be along to make so recommendations.

Apparently lab diamonds don’t have fluor…

The crystal is not bad.
The cut is just slightly steep deep but looks like its ok.
What color is the roof of the car, your phone and shirt in the photos?

In a car you get a weird mix of lighting, colors and obstruction levels/colors that can make diamonds look weird.
Remember a diamond can only reflect what is around it and the bigger the diamond the more apparent that will be to the eye.
How does it look elsewhere?

Yes, I guess it's not as common as in natural because of the controlled method of growth. And when LGD do fluoresce, it's under short wave as opposed to long. Learned something new!

For example the following areas both metal and diamonds are all showing signs of drawing light from the same object that is not as bright as other areas.(obstruction)
I could have put a dozen more arrows on the main diamond and setting but this shows my point.

UV of different wavelengths is used to separate mined from lab and cvd from hthp.
The better testers user 3 different wavelengths of uv.

I learned so much in a matter of like 30 minutes. lol Thank you!

OP what is your experience with diamonds before owning this one?

Has the diamond been cleaned?

The roof of my car is light gray.

I found a couple more pictures. The 1st one is in jewelry store when I first picked it up. The second one is shortly after leaving the jewelry store.

I've had several natural diamonds. I had a 1.25 CT natural stone in my ring before I replaced it with this one.

I think it needs a good bath and scrubbing. Start there and see if it helps at all. Dawn dishwasher, warm water, and soft
toothbrush.

That's what I thought too, but inside it looks fine, it's just when I go outside in the sunlight. I wish I could go outside and take a picture, but it's raining today.

Oil and dust shows up more in sunlight.
