Unevenly Pierced Ears

Who did you ask about getting re-pierced? I would go to the highest rated body piercing salon in your city and have a consult with a professional piercer. If there is a finger width distance between where your current hole is and where you'd like your new hole, I wouldn't think there'd be any problem. I have three piercings in each lobe (intentionally) along with five other ear piercings. I'd think a finger width would be enough distance to not have the piercings interact with each other.

Thank you all for the great suggestions!
@AGBF wow! Thank you! I read every post and its fascinating how many people have terrible experiences with their piercings. @lyra ....that looked terribly painful, but for the situation I think totally worth it! If my piercings ever stretch I might revisit.

I definitely did not go to a tattoo place, and it wasnt really a botched piercing but it was definitely not done right. Not a hollow needle, I had mine done at a jeweler's with a gun. Thank God I had just left my dentist....my face was actually still a bit numb from the novacaine....so no pain persay like one poster's daughter. The infection problems were also much later in life. My mom doesn't wear earrings so I don't think that she knew what to even look for and how to help me care for the piercings...I will 100% know for my daughter!

I asked about a second piercing in just the ear where its further out and putting it closer to my head so it looks intentionally off set but was told it might run into my first piercing. I wonder if a tattooist would have a different opinion. Though I'm in a very conservative field so I don't know if I want to have the extra piercing be an issue later on.

@yssie that was also an option...though I think I could only do it with earrings with a basket and it would have to be over a certain size (NOT that I'm complaining about bigger). I haven't really explored this yet as I wanted martinis....but now that I've seen the other option, offset earrings appeal to me way more than cutting open my ear.

Definitely get an opinion from a professional piercer (not a tattooist). They will recommend the best course of action. The piercer should be affiliated with APP. You can find one or more in your area by searching here: https://safepiercing.org/

I had one of my earrings ripped out when I was a kid. I let the lobe grow back together and had it re-pierced. I can't wear heavy earrings or that side will droop. If I'm not wearing diamond studs, I try to wear earrings with a post or something that covers up the hole instead of just a wire. The difference in symmetry bothers me every once in a while, but I'm not bothered enough to get it fixed.
