I am here with DH so I asked him.
It is called the fly.
Although if I were naming it I would call it the weiner flap.

At my house it is called the ''pickle pocket''...
When my oldest daughters were 4, one of them decided she wanted to help me fold the laundry. She grabbed a pair of DH''s briefs, and stared very intently at the opening for a minute or two. Then she said (and I will quote word for word)
''This is daddy''s pickle pocket. He can put a whole pickle in there and when he gets hungry he can eat it. But wait, Daddy doesn''t like pickles. But you do Mommy! You can eat Daddy''s pickle!!''

Macy''s has some listed as having, ahem, ''male enhancement''? How does that work? Is that like the man version of a pushup bra? Are there wires or something?Date: 6/15/2010 1:15:48 PM

Some of the descriptions on Jockey.com are very interesting
ie Low Rise and Stretch Classic.
But basically it''s fly or no fly.

See, I''ve wondered the same thing. I get boxers - it''s just a hole, but the briefs, it''s more complicated - like you gotta move one flappy piece over and then pull through......just seems like it would be difficult, yanno?Date: 6/15/2010 2:08:36 PM

I find those little flaps interesting. Are they always used? I could have sworn I''ve seen my FI just unbutton, unzip and hang the ''pickle'' over the elastic band. Are those pickle pockets used only for public restrooms? Men? Can you weigh in? Is it easier to throw it over the top when at home than to finagle it out of the fly and back in?
And we all know men can''t handle thatDate: 6/15/2010 2:19:32 PM

DH calls it the Penis Flap but that''s because we have a 4 yr old boy who doesn''t want FLIES around his manhood.
DH also says he opens the fly of his boxers whenever he pees. BUT, if he were to wear briefs, he says it''s nearly impossible and completely uncomfortable to finagle it out the hole so he would do the pull-down method.
Wow. I can honestly say that I''ve never spent so much time or energy contemplating men peeing.
lol about the pickle!
