UK shipping

I'm wanting to purchase a diamond and have it shipped to the UK. Has anybody had any experience with this? Any idea as to how much UK customs charges are? What is the insurance situation? Can anyone recommend an independent appraisor in London? Any US diamond sellers who you can recommend?

If you're buying via the internet from USA supplier, you can get the stone checked and appraised independently in the USA before you even pay for it.

We have shipped many diamonds of varying values to the UK. It is a seamless process. We ship FEDEX priority international and the package is in the UK next day. It usually takes a day to clear customs.

I believe that the total taxes amount to 17% - this is information received from our customers. From what we have heard, it is still worth purchasing the diamond from the USA, as the quality and great pricing far exceeds what is available locally.
