UK or Ireland shipping

Hi,

Myself and my partner (not fiance yet

) are planning to purchase a diamond and/or finished ring online from Whiteflash (perhaps get the setting from Leon M). There is no comparisons in cost. Has anyone got a ring shipped from the US to the UK or Ire and what did they have to pay in terms of taxes, duties etc ? VAT in Ire is over 20% (but lower in the UK and my office is in the UK so could ship there). I know you are supposed to but I have got things shipped from the US on numerous occassions and was only charged once as I think the online vendor had market it as a ''gift''? Bluenile is based in Ireland so that could be an option either- while I know it isnt as good value as other online vendors if I am charged a lot on shipping from WF or Leon, Bluenile may be our best option.

I did see someone from the UK purchased from WF in a previous post but cannot find it now....any help is much appreciated!

Quite a lot of jewellers refuse to set stones not sold by them.
If you can find a jeweller who agrees to set your stone, they probably won''t accept liability for damage during the setting process.

Make sure that you check these things before proceeding.
