Following on from my bad bezel post - would like any recommendations for GOOD GREAT FAB jewellers in London (preference) or UK (not toooo expensive please!) Someone with good quick turnaround with massive attention to detail - to reset my .90 cushion (either using existing platinum or new (probably).

So sorry to hear about the troubles with your engagement ring. Stephen Einhorn in London has fabulous contemporary settings

and their customer service is excellent. It may be worth enquiring there. Good luck! x

Don't be put off by this name but Diamondgeezer.com is a firm based in Birmingham/Gloucestershire that are also a working jewellers. They can CAD your own design or offer you a choice of designs. They are definitely not expensive and will work within a budget if you're upfront about it. Their internet site doesn't even hold a tenth of their designs etc., so it's well worth giving them a call.

One thing they won't do is melt your metal down and re-use it. However, if your shank can be used with a different head then they'll do that happily. They work with all types of gold, platinum and palladium.

They've made numerous pieces for me (all my own design) that have been appraised by Safeguard who have commented on the quality of their work.
