Does anyone know of where I can purchase lab diamonds in the UK? I’m fine with online I just don’t want to pay huge duty fees from the states. I was looking at James Allen previously but worry about shipping from USA.

Can you post the details? (angles, measurements, etc.?)

I believe JA can/does ship from the EU, but either way, you'd only pay 20% VAT on a loose stone from the USA.

I think there's also 2.5% on set rings, but I'm not sure if that's before/alongside/on top of VAT.

I have found that the USD prices + VAT work out pretty much the same as UK prices.


Look through the list of vendors in the 'List of MMD vendors' thread in this section - there should be some in there that are in the UK if you do want to stick with the UK.

I believe that Durham Rose in Stratford, who also stock CBI diamonds, sell MMDs, and I would anticipate that they would appreciate the benefits of finding one with excellent cut.
