u cut or v cut - pros and cons?

I'm not sure if i have the correct names of these settings, but what are the pro's and con's of each of them?

In all honesty, practicality wise there isn't much of a difference. It's more of a personal preference and what looks good to you. I think u's are always nicer to look at. However, in a more contemporary piece a the v's tend to look better depending on the style. Are you working with a designer for an upcoming piece or just looking?
