Hi there,

First thread but have been searching the forum for quite a while now.
Looking for some suggestions about my engagement ring

Its from Tiffany and I know in expert point of view they are over priced not worth getting however to me the setting itself is beautiful and I'm willing to pay a bit more

After many back and forwards with the SA I finally narrowed down to two options
General 4Cs
Cut: both 3 Excellent
Carat: 1.19 vs 1.2
Colour: both H colour
Clarity: VS1 vs VVS1

Proportions:
Depth: 61.2 vs 61.2
Table: 56 vs 55
Crown: 34.3 vs 34
Pavilion: 40.9 vs 40.6

Girdle: both Medium
Price: 3.5 K difference

Any thoughts would be appreciated

If the price difference is due to the VVS1 clarity then I'd definitely go for the VS1, which is definitely eye clean - I wouldn't want to pay extra for something I can't appreciate like size or color.

Thanks ac117,
Yes, its the clarity which I'm not into that either.

Just want to know if the cut proportion of the VVS1 is superior than the other

Thanks in advance

Sorry there is another one with G colour
Three stone comparison as below

General 4Cs
Cut: all 3 Excellent
Carat: 1.19 vs 1.2 vs 1.14
Colour: G vs G vs H
Clarity: VS1 vs VVS1 vs VVS2

Proportions:
Depth: 61.2 vs 61.2 vs 61.5
Table: 56 vs 55 vs 58
Crown: 34.3 vs 34 vs 34.5
Pavilion: 40.9 vs 40.6 vs 40.9

Price: 3.5 K difference for the first two, 1K difference for the later two

Thanks in advance

Apologies the colour should be H vs H vs G (corrected in the quote)

If we ignore the VVS1 which doesn't gives much value per price, would the colour G worth another 2.5K? (the table % is a bit out by the way)

Regards,

Would still take the H VS1. Angles are more complementary (PA of 40.9 matches up well with CA of 34.3) and I like the smaller table compared to the G. 58% tables work nice for earrings, but I think they make E-ring diamonds look rather one-dimensional.

I agree with the above: Get the H VS1 and save the 3.5K. :) I think it's the best diamond of the bunch regardless of the price based on the numbers.

H VS1!

Thank you all!!!
You are all brilliant!!!
Will post something once I got the rock

I guess when it comes down to branded ring, that's all we can find and make a decision based on

We just received another one as the previous H VS1 has been sold:(

The current one has a spec of below

Cut 3EX
Carat 1.14
Colour H
Depth%61.7
Table 55
Crown Angle 34.7
Pavillion Angle 40.8

HCA score 1.4

Any suggestions appreciated

Hi Bring,

Well that's disappointing but never mind, on we go! It looks good, is it still VS1 or did I miss that?
