I couldn''t help but want to brag about my star cut rhodolite - received today. 0.56ct, eye clean, good color (much lighter than picture) and awfully cute! Don''t know how to mount it, but I just love to hold and see my little star! Will try to take some pic later.

Those who know me by far can probably guess the answer - eBay!

ps perhaps you can get several in different colors and make a ''galaxy''!

Wow your rhodolite is quite the star!!! How fun, I''m thinking put a diamond halo around it and make it into a necklace??? Could be very nice me thinks!!!

These come close

one would think that making a sinuous halo like that would be the main difficulty of the project, but these guys did it twice over:

There are all sorth of "snowflakes" where this one comes from: link to source

Someone from this shop started posting on Pricescope recently.

Multicolour and Creativegem are still listing some star cuts (small green tourmaline and dark red garnet) - these used to be quite trendy when a branded diamond star cut begun and aparently still are.

Very nice

Valeria,
That''s awesome. How in the world do you find all these amazing pics????

I like the galaxy idea... maybe with some round ones and and other shapes on a mult-strand, mult-level chain.

That is *such* a neat stone!

valeria, thanks for the mounting idea, I will definitely consider it.

Thanks to all of you for sharing my excitement!

Wow, very pretty!

oh, how about some half moon/cresent shapes?! full rounds?! you could have your own personal night sky pendant scattered with stars and moons.... ok, me over the top.

How about this idea - I will make a bracelet for my daughter when she is older (she is ONE now) with the little star, add to it a round, a half moon, a trillion, and a cushion or flaunder cut stone, each in different color. Wouldn''t that be cool? I will have plenty of time to find the rest of the stones!

Oooh... What a great idea, Yingh. You could even do it as a charm bracelet... add a new charm every year?

Oooooh, I love the idea of making that star into a charm! Wow!

I just looked at some stars in fancy sapphire colours and was wondering what could be done with them.

That''s one cute rhodolite, by the way.

I agree 100%. I think that is the coolest idea!!!

I am happy to report that I''ve added more twinkle to my collection. Now I have 3 stars and a moon!

Stars size from 5.3mm to 6.5mm.

cheers--Sharon

They are all so cute!

What are you going to do with them?

The plan is to save them for my daughter (1 year old) and make a necklace or bracelet for her. That will be fun! Star has been my favorite shape.
