I have reach out to Moissanite Company to create a custom ring for me in lab diamonds. Specifically Bella’s ring from Eclipse. I have been unable to find a good enough replica on Etsy or elsewhere. This is the CAD they provided. Ive asked for the dome to be flattened because folks on Reddit keep telling me all the diamonds are going to fall out since they’re pave! Now I’m straight up terrified. I need advice. Should I ditch this project? I want to be able to actually wear and love this ring, but everyone I show the inspiration pictures and CAD to say they don’t think it will hold up or the diamonds will fall out. Bella’s ring and my CAD below.DCC8A298-E746-482A-BAA2-77C14A5794A9.jpegAE8A8889-9E03-4758-BA97-D18ADA70FCAB.jpeg

Unfortunately this isn't a design that will have longevity. The stones are likely to fall out

Damn. Is there any way I can achieve this look/style? I found a lovely ring on 1st Dibs that is similar… is any ring like this doomed?

i love twilight
i so want this to work out for you

You'll find that many people with some sort of pave ring will have lost a stone here and there. I think it's safer to assume that you may.

Should that stop you from enjoying this ring? Given the size of the pave stones aren't huge, I think you should have a go, using a jeweller who will do their best to set the stones as securely as possible. Ask to have two or three spare stones set aside for the future. If you're lucky and don't wear the ring a lot and wear it gently, you may never need to replace a stone. And if you do lose a stone, it's (relatively) not the end of the world.

I am the biggest twilight fan haha and I loved that ring. I didn't go searching for it in particular but found a similar ring by DBL

I think they could definitely recreate one in colourless lab grown diamonds!

FYI this pinky number was only $1895 :)

I believe I have this exact ring, but with natural diamonds. It’s been sitting in my jewelry box unworn for years! My coworker commented that it looks like Bella’s ring! I can take pics of it on tomorrow if it would be helpful. I should probably list this one since I don’t wear it…

Bella's ring would have been an antique as im pretry sure it had belonged to Edward's real human mother who died of Spanish flu

the authur was very particular of her movies, and all the details so there must be rings just like Bella's out there

if your not in love with your ring i would think it wouldn't be hard to sell

i am really looking forward to a hand shot of your ring

Only other thing to add, I think your cad drawing has the diamonds in a neat halo formation, whereas the original ring and other antique style rings have a more random formation of the diamonds? I think that will also help in putting bigger metal between the stones for security. I think jewellers back in the day were very clever with using a scattering of diamonds with blobs of metal for big bling for less money. Of course if you can afford the extra diamonds then you can really maximise but my feeling is that more metal, less stone also helps with keeping stones intact.

I think I’d choose bead set over shared prong, as well.

You should list it! I found that one on Ruby Lane and First Dibs. It is with natural diamonds. I think they have it listed for $1,470. I keep teetering on having mine made with the lab diamonds or buying that one that has natural. I don’t know, I’m a mess over this project lol.

Also please post pics! That would be very helpful. I’m currently looking at a few pieces in person at a jeweler to get ideas.

Do a quick Etsy search, they have a ton!!

i didn't realize this was a whole style of rings here's a natural stone one from ivy & rose... if the stones are a calibrated size it's not that hard to have one replaced if needed. happy hunting =)

Not keen on claws/prongs except for the sturdier bar prongs, as I too believe they are rather fragile for everyday wear.

DK :))

Update with CAD #2. I asked for the ring to be lower, the stone distribution to be more round or less marquis. With this new CAD I’m asking for the underside to have some openings to clean the stones. Any thoughts on this? I also asked for the rim around the entire ring to be a bit thicker.

Would love opinions on how to improve this.

Go Bella !

I love Twilight. I read the books twice instead of writing my thesis...priorities right?

I know you're already doing CADs with a jeweler, bit thought I would throw this up. I have bought from Matty before and he's nice.

Do you all think this would be better in 14k white gold or platinum? As far as looks go, I think platinum would be absolutely stunning and would give it that old world look. But of course 14k would be more cost effective. Which metal would keep the stones safest?

I am glad to see you are still working on this. Can’t wait to see how it turns out. Since your CAD, I keep seeing antique version’s everywhere. Here is one with rosecuts but it looks well worn.
