Tutorial video on how to measure a round diamond

Bueller. Bueller. Anyone? I need visual instructions-- visual learner. I need to easily figure out my original MRB diamond dimensions so I can match it to side stones. My jeweler is 3 hours away and I won't be going there for a while.

Has anyone seen a tutorial video? Thanks for any info.

Oh and look at this: I wore my original engagement ring for 17
Years and never knew it has fluro (but I did always think it was whiter than an H)

Hi W,
First you'd need a proper millimeter gauge- we use one that looks like this. There's many models on the market, I find this one to be the most reliable- better than the digital models



It takes a steady hand and a bit of practice to measure a mounted diamond using the pincers on the right side.
In some cases the setting won't allow an exact measurement

Thank you: exactly what I wanted to know- which tool to buy.

I hope this diamond makes a good pendant. You can see so many inclusions clearly. I may have to get it appraised as I'm not confident it is an H color, but then I would need two appraisals. One to get the specifics and then one after I make it into a 3 stone necklace.
