Seeing as my e-ring was a much longer project than I could ever have anticipated, I have begun thinking about a wedding band and would appreciated some honest opinions. Sorry, I am not good at posting pics.

This is my e-ring:

https://www.pricescope.com/community/threads/my-ring-will-soon-be-on-its-way.37170/=

This is what I had anticipated getting for a w-band all along. It would be from WF also and it fits completly snug and flush under my center stone. It would have diamonds 3/4 of the way around the band, like my e-ring does:

http://www.bluenile.com/product_details.asp?oid=4908&catid=8&filter_id=0&nav1=band_channel.asp&page=2&col=2&row=6&pos=17&set_shape=

Now I am thinking that I would like something a little more different and whimsical. I love this one:

http://www.tiffany.com/shopping/group.aspx?CategoryID=508&category=Jewelry&c_id=WEB1&c_it=GRP0120&start_id=11&

With this one, I would most likely get one like it made at WF. I was thinking of replaceing the 2 small rounds in the marquise shape with actual small marquise. Then there would be east-west set marquises in my w-band and in my e-band. Of course this band would not fit quite as well with the ring I have and I don't want anything to take away from my e-ring. I just thought that for times when I only wear my wedding band, it would be so pretty. Opinions please?

One more question: Seeing as my e-ring is 3/4 diamond shank, do I need to be worried about the 2 rings against each other? If I got the first choice, I think it would actually be the beaded edges rubbing against each other because when I look closely at my ring, the diamonds are set in (down) from the edge. I don't think it would be diamonds against diamonds.

Your ring is so breathtaking!

In my humble opinion, your ring is a stand-alone ring. Another band would detract from the look, especially since it has such beautiful detail on the sides. If I were you, I might get a wedding band but wear it on my right hand after the wedding.

Oh, Jazmine! I love your ring SO MUCH!!!

Just for everyone''s convenience, here are pics of your ring. First WF''s pics:

Jazmine...I looked at the two bands you linked...and they''re both really nice...but...
I''m curious, have you tried pave bands with your ring?

I''d be so scared to add any "distraction" to that fabulous mounting!

I''d personally probably choose totally plain plat band to go with that beauty...Maybe Irina can do some photoshop magic and change my mind!

PS: Irina...My WF picture looks awful next to your big one! Can you make it go away?

Tiffany link is not working, i am just assuming it's a right picture, is it Jazmin?

But i am afraid it wouldn't be visible under the halo...?

Just my very humble 2 cents... but I think I might consider (*gasp!*)... no wedding band. If you get one to sit flush up under the gallery, it's really not going to "show" from the top or sides, anyway, no?

Your ring is so substantial and unique on its own... I truly think I'd be sorely tempted to just keep it "as is" and call it... "done"!

ETA: Haha, Jazmine, we must have been posting at the same time!!!!

At the very least, I think I would get a thin diamond band like the one I just posted. More for what it represents than as a blingy piece of jewelry. So even if I could not see it when worn with my e-ring, it would not matter. Plus, sometimes I just don't want to wear that sizable e-ring and woudl still like to have a band on my left hand.

Like you and other said, a wband isn''t really going to show under your gorgeous ering. Since it''s would be for its sentimental value, I say go for it and get a wband that sit flush with the ering. I don''t like the idea of wearing the wband on the right hand either, but I would wear the ering on my right hand. Even though it''s not really going to show when it''s worn with the ering, I still like the uniform look of band #1 with your ering. The Tiffany''s band is nice and fun, but I just don''t see it as the right wband with your ering.

What about bright blue or red channel set sapphire idea, this way it WILL be seen even under your e-ring?

If you are not opposite completely i try to make a better simulation.

I''d go for a simple thin wedding band if you want one. But that ring is a stand alone ring IMHO. I just love it jazmine!!!

Do you think that a plain plat band will get very scratched from being against my ring, with the 3 sided pave band?

I like the more "whimsical" style BUT I think you should go with a spacer like Researchers instead of flush band on e-ring. I think having something plain separating a little will make sure both rings stand out AND will prevent any rubbing damage from diamonds/settings against diamonds and settings.

Hi Jazmine,

Before I saw your ring ... I was not into marquis shaped rings ... I now have changed my mind!

Wowie!! Not only is your ring gorgeous, the detailing is magnificent.

I know alot of people who only wear one band/ring. Usually it''s because the ring is more than enough to stand alone, the rings are pretty substancial rings. I think your ring would fit in this catagory!!

I know a couple of gals a month before the wedding day, took off the ring ... had them cleaned and put away with the grooms ring. The day of the wedding, they had both rings blessed with a prayer etc...
12.gif

All in all, I think if you are comfortable with wearing a band with your ring, then I think you should go for it. If you are happy, then that is what really counts!
9.gif
I think I would go custom though ... and get something to sit as flush as possible and follow the same lines of your ring and stick to the same size diamonds. I think it would blend more when you are looking at it. I don''t know how much it will show to others, but just make sure your happy!

Wishing you much happiness!

i think a thin pave band or plain band would look nice. not to much to compete with your e-ring but that little symbol you are looking for. a friend of mine has a huge 3 stone emerald cut ring. she wears a 2mm plain band next to it, you can barely see it unless you''re an e-ring stalker like me. Just enough to show she''s married

Thanks for the compliments once again

I had considered a spacer but I just thought it would be plain ugly. I had never considered that it might enable me to show off both rings more. Plus, it could be just a very thin plat. band.

Thanks for the suggestion.

I totally understand your desire to have a wedding band. I am going through the same search for the perfect band. I personally like the bluenile band with your e-ring better than the tiffany''s. I think it will compliment without taking away from your ring. I would be worried about the diamonds rubbing on each other. Why would you not get one made by WF? The blue nile one does seem like a great price!

No, it would be from WF, so the ACA diamonds would match up.

I love the whimsical band you posted, and that''s still my favorite for your wedding band, not only for the meaning that an actual wedding band represents, but the e/w marquise stones that would be in both rings. I have a ring similar to the Tiff''s one you posted, though I got it at my local jeweler''s. It''s rb stone set in mq shaped openings in a wg ring. I was going to get two bands, but my jeweler dropped the ball and I decided to let it go because stacking 3 rings is okay, but I can see how 4 would squeeze my finger a bit. Anyway, here''s a pic of the band alone, and then of the set together.

I would be wary of your initial band decision because I don''t like the idea of diamonds touching diamonds, even if the bead set prongs would be in the way....and I''m not sure if the side of your ering would beat up whichever wedding band you chose...I think the spacer would be a good idea, and you''d see more of the wedding band.

set
(and to be totally honest, the combo I wear the most is the mq-ish band with my pear ering, omitting the matchy wedding band)

Ooh, that is so pretty. It has an antique look to it that I think would match the style of my e-ring. Actually, I was just thinking that if I got a thin plat. spacer, you might not even really see it. You would just see the w-band beside it. This could work

Exactly what I''m thinking.

Thin spacer, which by the looks of what was photoshopped on this thread already, would really not be seen from under your ering, and then you''d only see the wband.

I really like the idea of a thin spacer - then whatever wedding band you chose would be somewhat visible. Your ring is very pretty btw!

You may need a spacer, but I would simply have WF make a w-band that matches the shank of your e-ring.

Have you seen this one?

http://www.estatediamondjewelry.com/item.cfm?int_item_id=583&cat_id=8

It looks a lot like the "whimsical" one you were talking about (Tiff''s)... I agree that perhaps a spacer might be in order to wear it w/ your e-ring..

Good luck!!

Love it, and that one has a milgrained edge. Thanks so much!

Here Jazmine, i made this band to scale of your ring and put it flash so you can see how much of it would be visible.
