Tulipset: how low can you go?

Well, I finally decided on a diamond (will update my previous post soon), so now it''s time to choose the setting.

I think my girlfriend wouldn''t like the "way the heck up there" look, even if it does show the diamond nicely.

However, after all the work I''ve put into looking at diamonds, I''m a little hesitant to cover it up with a bezel

So I''ve been looking all around, and have found I''ve been drawn to the tulipset and the trellis/lucida style settings, but I''m a bit nervous, as the ones that I''ve seen have been pretty tall. Can the diamond be set fairly low in either of those settings? Or do you guys have a different setting suggestion?

What shape diamond will you be setting?

It''s a 1.01 ct round, ~6.5 mm diameter, 59.9% depth.

I''ve read about people catching their rings on all sorts of objects, and definitely didn''t want this ring to be a pain in the neck to wear.

Whiteflash's W-prong is very nice and sits relatively low. I don't think you would have to worry about a diamond set at this height unless your GF is a nurse or does something similar (zoom in on this for a better idea)
