Trying to incorporate an old ring

I would love to incorporate this old ring in with my setting. My husband thinks it too much and I think the ring would look great with a new setting. The metal is chunky which makes it look not right with my set. Is there any hope or do you think it will not work no matter what I do.

your set is very close to what I wear. Try stacking this way-smallest first-larger eternity second and solitare last. Thats how I wear my set and I love it. I have a 5 stone in the middle
that has little air spaces. I love the look.
