Trying to get my EGL Cert.

I have an oval that I bought some years ago, it came with a EGL Diamond Consultation Card. It has the LA address on the back and says to call for the full cert. I called and they say it isn''t theirs it could be EGLINT, or some other one, how do I find out which EGL lab to call?

You may be out of luck. EGL-LA was a separate EGL franchise that shut down about a decade ago in the midst of a sticky lawsuit between them, EGL International and EGL-NY. It’s a long an interesting store but the end result was the court ordered death of EGL-LA, a new office for EGL-NY that occupies the same space that LA formerly had and a rebranding of that company to EGL-USA. The management of EGL-LA moved to Chicago and reopened under a new name (PGS).

You may need to get it reinspeted. As mentioned above, EGL-USA has a lab in that same location if it’s convenient for you and I’m sure they would be happy to talk with you about it and GIA is happy to take submissions to either of their labs from anyone.
