trying to decide between an OEC and a transitional

Hey all...I'm in a happy dilemma of sorts. I came across two one carat diamonds. The OEC is SII, K. The transitional is G VS1. Both are beautiful for different reasons. Both are flawed for different reasons. The OEC has 4 "bruises". Is that to be expected with a hand cut diamond? How do they occur?

how do you like the different play of light? I feel that finding a great looking transitional is harder to come by than OEC.

20190405_225500.jpg 20190405_224122.jpg oh, I love your question!
The OEC is unreal...I've never seen anything quite like it...I LOVE the broad facets, and this one was cut to perfection, although the round is off by .22. ( obviously, cut by hand, by candlelight and measured by eye) The pictures don't capture it at all !! I'm so sorry!
The TC is fiery, but I've discovered the table is way off to one side...this will drive me nuts

for the oec. are the bruises a result of hand cutting?

I’m sorry, but with 8o% lower girdle halves, no culet, and a faceted girdle, it’s not an OEC. (Though some old cuts are repolished to facet the girdle, it is the overall combo that is not reassuring).

We really need some up close, straight on pictures of the stone where we can see the faceting patterns.

Bruising is caused by the stone taking a sharp hit, not related to the cutting process.
