HI All,

Just wondering if anyone knows of a well known Diamond Vendor in the US like James Allen and GOG who also actually sell or source second hand diamonds?

I am in Australia and looking to buy a 2-3 carat RB diamond in the USA for a ring I am having Victor Canera make up then post over to me here. If the diamond was bought pre-loved it could save some $$ butI have the disadvantage of being OS so I need to ensure I am not taking a risk with buying second hand.

Was hoping to see if any of you know of a trusted vendor who also deals in pre-loved diamonds???

There may not be such a thing in the US, please let me know if you can help with any recommendations.

My budget is around $18K.

Have you tried Jewels by Erica Grace?

they sell a lot of antique stones but do get modern cuts. Drop them a line, they are lovely to deal with and can source stones for you.

Having always been a modern cut girl, through pricescope I have gotten to experience older cuts, OMG the sparkle... chunky flashes of fire! JbeG have great videos to view

GoG have a deals and steals page, I believe these are consigned pieces???

Have you had a quote from Victor regarding the cost of the setting so we know what your budget is for the stone? Keep in mind the 10% GST and shipping fees also but other Aussies can probably advise you better on this.

I, like you, am on the search but I am looking for an old European cut. Good luck!

Just thought of Loupe Troop and Diamond bistro. Phoenix has a killer 2.something stone on LT for 19K. She has amazing bling!

I agree with Nottospec that you could try Jewels by Erica Grace. Their customer service is amazing and they are really friendly and helpful.

And yay for working with Victor Canera!! You will be amazed. What setting will he make for you. Have you made a decision yet?

Hey!

The $18K budget is just for the stone (my max budget though), I will have to pay for the setting and 10% Aussie GST on top of that.
Yep Victor has given me a quote for the setting already, no prizes for guessing what setting I want him to do :wink2:

I second that either Jewels by Erica Grace, GOG or try loupetroop or DiamondBistro. I think Phoenix's stones are also killer and inside the budget you are not going to get much better I am afraid, unless you go for an Antique cut diamond. Also ask Victor for a quote for the best stone inside your budget, as he is cutting more all the time + the setting, he will give you a bit of a discount if you purchase both from him. You were after an Emilya from memory? Do you live in or near Brisbane? If so and you want to have a look at one I could show you mine.

Typically if you buy off ebay, loupe troop or Diamond Bistro you will get the best bang for your buck. Jewels by Erica Grace, GOG, Pearlmans also have cosignment and pre loved items but they also charge a cosignment fee so really you are still paying near retail price. If you are trying to save money on a diamond purchase going through a vendor isn't really going to do that for you. You need to go through a private seller. However with that said you won't get any of the bells and whistles you get with a vendor. Plus your only safety net is paypal unless the seller offers a return period (most don't). Just food for thought.

There is no better deal than the three diamonds Phoenix has listed. They are all top quality hearts and arrows stones. If your budget for the stone is $18k, then I can't think of anything better than her 2.3 ct J VS2's for $18k. If they were smaller, I would have already bought the pair for studs!

Her stones are with Perry Chen at Leon Mege's office in NYC.

Good Old Gold is a good source, but I don't see anything listed now between 2-3 cts.

It's interesting that you ask because I owned Frankiextah's Victor halo for the longest time and had it sitting unset. I had several offers on it but in the end I put a 2.38 transitional cut into it, that I purchased from JBEG It's a white facing J VS1 stone. It looks like an Old European on the hand with big chunky flashes of fire but it also has big fat hearts and arrows in it. It's a killer combination the ring gets attention everywhere it goes. If you like big flashes of fire as opposed to a smaller fine scintillation pattern it keeps up with (and possibly out blings) a perfectly cut RB.

Nottospec has seen the ring in person if you want any other comments. I have been debating as to what to do with it as I know there was another member or two after this sort of stone, especially since fingers crossed I am about to get my big Old European cut set. If you want pictures contact me via one of my old listings (the pear has been sold);
