Hello, I have been looking for an engagement ring both in shops and online. James Allen has these True Hearts diamonds - I was wondering are they the same quality as the Passion8 diamonds I have been shown in shops? I would like my diamond to be as sparkly as possible - is it worth paying the extra for these branded stones do you think?

Thanks for your help!

The premium is worth it if you value craftsmanship, low variance (math/science types), having the best of the best, or just wanting extra quality assurance/peace of mind.

But the difference is subtle at best. You don't need hearts and arrows if you just want sparkly.

"sparkly" really has nothing to do with hearts and arrows. You can have a non-H&A stone with all the right angles that will "outsparkle" an H&A with poor angles. H&A is a measure of symmetry. That said, if a cutter takes the time to cut true H&A, they are probably taking time to cut the correct combination of angles most of the time.

It's all about the quality of the cut. The better the combination of angles the better it will perform (i.e. the better the light performance... what you see).
