Hello everyone! I just wondered what everyone opinions are on True Diamond Jewelry (india)?

Looking on eBay and their website they are significantly cheaper for exactly the same ring as others. Yet they seem to be highly rated.

One thing I've learned over the years is that if something is cheap then there is a good reason for it...

Examples. These were £1800-2100 on BrilliantEarth.com.

OP, as I suggested in your other thread, my advice will be that you purchase a setting + a diamond or a colored stone from a trusted vendor that also offers a good return policy. eBay would not be my choice for an engagement ring. Spending most of your budget on a setting from India will not be my recommendation either. Did you see any of the BN options suggested? If you decide to purchase from abroad, you also need to plan for VAT tax.

Hi, I’ve also bought through eBay from India and China. The quality is good, however if you buy “diamond set” mounts, the diamonds will tend to be of the lower quality- which is ok if they are just tiny ones. Also their mounts are on the “lighter side” ie gold weight. Rents and labor costs are a lot higher in the UK than in India or China, hence the price difference.

I’ve had it 3 years, the ring has been worn regularly. It has over 1 carat worth of tiny diamonds and none have fallen out. I paid around $700 US for it. Does this China made ring mount compare well to my handmade ring mount? No, not really, but my designed and hand made ring mount cost me $5,000! While the quality may not be “amazing” it is certainly good enough to wear daily and be proud of. And they are still on eBay. They are “jewelryhoo”. They also have fully made rings. And if you are on a limited budget, eBay sellers from China and India can be very cost effective.

I would like to talk to you more about this seller. I am considering purchasing an engagement ring from him/her. I already have a location where I'll be buying a stone from. The metal part is what I am mostly concerned about.

1. Given your experience with this seller, do you believe that they would be able to reproduce this setting "originally" by brilliant earth that is now listed on their website/eBay?

There is a fair amount of detail on it and I am worried about the details being right and the material being genuine 14K wight gold as advertised.

Your advice is greatly appreciated.
