We had a blast, and I'm so relieve that we got married on our own terms!

I forgot half of my make-up. DH opened his garment bag to find his suit was missing the pants. We got married anyway! :twirl:

The morning was UTTERLY perfect, like a postcard. 78 degrees at 6:30am with an ocean breeze, light streaming through the clouds. Magnificent.

We did have the best time! We did a couple's massage at the spa at Harrah's (fabulous!), a cooking class at the Viking School (DELISH and so much fun!), a night time helicopter ride along the AC coastline from the Steel Pier, traipsed around the casinos and boardwalk in my dress, wrote "Just married" on the back of our car and enjoyed being honked and waved at... we had an officiant that played acoustic guitar (which we didn't even get to dance to because the photographer whisked us away!), we fed each other cupcakes... the entire weekend was so peaceful and serene, it was truly the perfect escape... just should have been longer! Especially now, since I am incredibly busy at work and traveling constantly.

We are headed to California tomorrow and celebrating with friends and family this weekend. My dad is still acting out and refusing to come, but my mom, sister and brother will be there. It was supposed to be an informal gathering of friends which has now turned into a very small reception, but c'est la vie.

All four of our parents have been having conference phone calls, laughing joking and enjoying each other into the night, so I suspect any hurt feelings will dissolve. DH's parent's have been working on my dad, to no avail, but every one is secure in the knowing that our families are thrilled about our union, and wish us well. The mom's were going to split the cost of the reception with us, but once the dad's got talking, male pride kicked in, so the dad's are covering the entire cost for 40 people. So, aside from my dad refusing to come, all is well that ends well.

Well, except for the fact that I have nothing to wear to said reception! :bigsmile:

Oh Trillionaire - the two photos you posted are so gorgeous, you both looked so thrilled ("totally stoked" in Australian speak ;))! Congratulations, it is wonderful to see that you were able to do it your way and that it turned out exactly as you wanted. Your Dad will come round eventually, even if it is not in time for the party.
 
Beautiful! We love Brigantine, my in laws have a time share there and we go every year (not that its far for us - only about 40 mins). So glad you had a perfect day and can't wait to see more pics!
