Trillion/pear cut sapphire for engagement ring please help

Hello,

I have never purchased any precious stones before, but I am looking for some help in finding something suitable for an engagement ring.

She seems to enjoy pear/Trillion cuts and slightly brighter colors most (blues/lavenders/yellows)

I was hoping to keep the stone under $2k.

You have a wide range of selection:
Blue, lavender, yellow color ---blue sapphire, lavender sapphire, yellow sapphire, blue spinel, lavender spinel, chrysoberyl that is greenish yellow and very bright. All suitable for everyday wear.
Any preferred dimension of the center stone?

I will get on that! It's tough because she's not TOO particular about color and sapphires come in so many...

As for dimensions, I'm not positive, but she liked the sizes of the >1 to 1.5~ct trillion cuts we looked at. What is that, like close to 7mm in width? Also the more rounded cuts, not the super triangular ones.

Pears always bring to mind a nice mahenge spinel (probably because there are some awesome examples by PS folks!). Something along the lines of this:

Colorwise, it would be on more of the "hate it" spectrum I'm afraid haha. More into the blues/greens/purple/yellows.

As far as Spinel goes, is the stone being something like an 8 vs 9 hardness not a concern longevity wise?

The yellow and blue sapphires and their cuts are
I think cut and color wise these are close to perfect, but pretty darn huge for her fingers. Also, maybe I am wrong, but I think the clarity of the yellow is preferred.
